Factors involved in regulating the timing and amount of shrimp daily diet

  • Water temperature
  • Oxygen level
  • The amount of protein needed by shrimp
  • The amount of food left in the tray
  • Nutritional information related to the previous farming period

Water factor

Shrimp are well fed at 25 to 32 degrees Celsius; But in Iran, the temperature is usually above 32 degrees Celsius. To manage this, the breeders try to provide shrimp with a higher percentage of the daily food at the cooler hour of the day.

Oxygen level

Shrimp appetite decreases as oxygen levels decrease. As a result, feed accumulates in the pool and the organic load of the pool increases. Increasing the organic load of the pool exacerbates the decrease in oxygen levels

The amount of protein needed by shrimp

Shrimp appetite decreases during peeling. In order to prevent the accumulation of food, the amount of daily food is reduced at this time. The number of peels depends on the age and size of the shrimp. As the shrimp get bigger, the time interval between peels increases.

The amount of food left in the tray

If feeding is done later or earlier than scheduled; Shrimp get hungry and start eating homogeneity. By checking the food tray, it is possible to determine the low and high consumption times of food during the day and night. Continuous recording of information such as oxygen, PH and temperature fluctuations also helps to make nutrition management more efficient.
